Nikki + Matthew {TTD Preview}

What: Trash the Dress / Day After Photo Session

As you probably already know if you stop in from time to time I very much enjoy 'Day After' photo sessions. I get the bride and groom all to myself and they are usually much more relaxed without the commitments associated with a wedding, which of course helps to make those fab photographs.

Nikki was actually sick on her wedding day (poor gal!) but luckily was fine the day of our TTD session. Matt was his usual gentleman self and we all ended up having a grand 'ol time getting soaked by the ocean. You know you gotta love the expression on their faces in the photo below when they got a surprise splash by a rogue wave. Yeppers, besides one small hiccup with a lifeguard (*shush - it's a secret*), it was a good day!

Julee + Aron {TTD Preview}

What: Trash the Dress / Day After Photo Session

What can I say about this TTD session that is not already 'said' by their photographs below. Except that perhaps Aron was not aware at first just how much trashing would be taking place. ;o) But towards the end of the session at the beach he was so into Julee and vice versa all I had to do was compose and click. Yep....gotta like it like that.

Sunshine + Joe {sneak preview - Day 2}

When: March 2009
Where: Windward, Oahu
What: Mini-"Day After" Photo session

If this couple looks familiar, your probably recognize them from the post below. The day after their wedding, Sunshine and Joe wanted to have a mini-TTD session to get some more fun, artsy, and relaxed photographs. I absolutely love these types of sessions since they are so relaxed and the couple are usually up for anything.

You may notice from the photos the wind was still blowing like crazy; thus I decided to shoot for more of an editorial/fashion look and use the movement from the wind to our advantage. Hopefully it worked!

On a side note, the ocean created some excitement also...as you can tell from the triptych below. NOTE: no photographers, cameras or "L" lenses were harmed in the filming of that sequence. ;o)

Eileen + Greg

When: April 2008
Where: Makapu`u & Sandy's Beach, Oahu
What: Hawaii Destination Wedding ~~~~~ Eileen and Greg had as about a small of destination wedding as you can have....it was them, the minister, and myself. You guessed it, they eloped. :o) I thoroughly enjoyed photographing them as there was no rush, they were very easy going, and they were looking for a blend of casual fine art & "trash the dress". I loved Eileen's dress - it reminded me of the classic 1950s style for some reason. Be sure to check out her choker and broach. Greg made them for her - very nice, aye?!?!?
