Andrea + Jordan {Sneak Preview}

What: A Delightful Hawaii Wedding

Andrea contacted me about photographing her wedding a while ago after she saw my work from Christine & Jonah's wedding which she attended last year. And when she told me that her reception was at the Waikiki Aquarium the 'ol gears in my head started turning thinking of all the fun and romantic photographs I could get of her and Jordan.

From the 'getting ready' shots at The Lotus (which is an absolutely fantastic hotel) to the reception at the Waikiki Aquarium, the whole experience of photographing their wedding was just plain awesome. One thing that really stood out for me from that day was that Andrea had some of the nicest and most thoughtful bridesmaids a gal could have. They did such a great job of taking care of her so she could enjoy her day with family and friends. (I should add though that the same could be said about the guys as well). Yep - it t'was all good and I'm sure both Andrea and Jordan are thankful for such terrific friends.

Julee + Aron {sneak preview}

When: June 2009
Where: Oahu, HI
What: Intimate Hawaii Destination Wedding

Julee and Aron (who are from Southern CA) are not your ordinary couple, thus it is no surprise they elected to have a not-so-ordinary wedding! With the help of Katy Castillo as their wedding coordinator, they arranged to have their wedding aboard a catamaran off the coast of Waikiki.

While sailing along the coast, the wedding couple and guests were treated to a light rain blessing, a rainbow, and sea turtles swimming next to the boat. It definitely was an experience that will be remembered by them and their guests for many moons to come.

Julee and Aron decided to have a 'Day After' session so keep your eyes peeled for a few of those photographs to be posted soon also...

Talia + Darren {encore!}

I know, it's been a while since my last post - but it's been a busy month and to top it all off I spent last week trying to get over a head cold and ear infection. Eck! (BTW you should try standing straight on a catamaran photographing a wedding with an antihistamine in your system...and folks thought I was a klutz beforehand!).

Anyhows....I'm slowing catching back up and wanted to share some more photos from Talia and Darren's wedding. This destination wedding is definitely one of my all time favs for lots of reasons, the least not being the kindness of both Talia and Darren but also their friends and family. It was also a fun wedding because they included loads of personal touches.

For example....after having a gander at their photos I'm sure some of you are wondering what's up with the white paper crowns? Well apparently in England they celebrate Christmas (and now weddings) with party poppers (aka English crackers), which are pictured below before being 'popped'. For weddings the 'prize' inside includes the paper crown (which you must wear I'm assuming for luck?) and a gold angel knick knack. Even yours truly was corralled into wearing one of these crowns, and was generously included in the festivities. :o)
