On the Side of Paradise
I'm excited to announce that I won my first juried photography competition. The Allen-Tarleton Contest is sponsored by the various photo clubs in Hawaii, and includes different categories to which one can enter. I entered one photo in the color print and one in the B&W print categories. My entry, "On the Side of Paradise", won first place in the color category. I feel extremely honored and pleased that the judges chose my print as there were many beautiful photographs submitted (including a couple from Kekiinani).

Hi Barbara! Congratulations! You photos are so beautiful. Do you remember me?! I had a photo shooting with you on Lanikai beach few months ago. I moved back to Japan in July, and had a wedding reception with my family and friends. I made a photo movie with the photos you took for us and showed it at the reception. Everyone LOVED it!!!!! Thank you so much:)
Great colors in this photograph. The green background really lets the the colors of the flower pop!
Great shot! Geckos love bird of paradise plants, and have seen some drinking from water collected on the flowers.
That's a shot I've been trying to get ... good one!
