The Painted Church: "Hawaiian-Style"

A view from inside St. Benedict's Painted Church in Kailua-Kona. The artwork was painted ~ 100 years ago. It was done by missionaries with the intent to overcome the language barrier and to illustrate to the native Hawaiians various Christian concepts.

Wow! that is quite vivid. It would be hard to concentrate on the sermon with all that color to look at.
